Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before using Kepto.
Last updated: July 6, 2026
1. Account Terms
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to create an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
- You are responsible for ensuring that users you invite are authorized to access your organization workspace.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
2. Acceptable Use
- You may use Kepto only for lawful purposes related to asset management.
- Kepto is a workflow and recordkeeping tool. It is not legal, tax, financial, insurance, or security advice, and it is not proof of ownership, possession, or physical custody of an asset.
- You agree not to attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems.
- You must not store special category, highly sensitive, payment card, national ID, medical, or regulated data unless you have written permission from Kepto and an appropriate legal basis.
- Automated scraping, data mining, or bulk extraction of data from the service is prohibited.
- You agree not to interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service.
- You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of asset, site, holder, photo, note, and audit data entered by your organization.
3. Subscription & Billing
- Free tier accounts are available with limited features as described on our Pricing page.
- Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually, depending on the plan selected.
- Kepto may offer a first-month free paid-plan trial or other promotional period for eligible new paid workspaces. Trial eligibility is limited to one paid-plan trial per organization, account, or Stripe customer, and Kepto may deny, revoke, or correct repeated or abusive trial use.
- By starting a paid-plan trial, you authorize Kepto and Stripe to store the payment method and automatically charge the selected subscription when the trial or promotional period ends, unless the subscription is canceled before that time.
- Payments, invoices, tax details, payment methods, and subscription changes are processed by Stripe.
- You may upgrade through checkout and manage or cancel eligible subscriptions through the Stripe Customer Portal. To avoid a renewal charge after a trial, cancellation must be completed before the trial ends.
- Prices may change with reasonable notice before the change applies to an existing paid subscription.
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis unless required by law or expressly stated in a written agreement.
- Enterprise or self-hosted deployments are governed by a separate written order or maintenance agreement where applicable.
4. Service Availability
- We work to keep the service reliable, but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
- Scheduled maintenance windows will be communicated in advance when possible.
- The service may depend on third-party providers such as Vercel, Neon, Stripe, Resend, Google, and Sentry.
- We are not liable for losses caused by service interruptions, user error, third-party outages, or inaccurate data entered by your organization.
- We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
- Kepto should not be treated as your only backup, archive, or legal record system. You remain responsible for exporting or retaining any records your organization must keep independently.
5. Termination
- You may close your account at any time by contacting support or through your Settings.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
- We may also suspend access where needed to protect the service, prevent abuse, comply with law, or resolve payment issues.
- Upon termination, data may be deleted or retained as described in the Privacy Policy and any applicable written agreement.
- You may request an export of your data before account closure.
6. Customer Data and Ownership
- Your organization owns the asset, site, holder, note, photo, and history data it enters into Kepto.
- You grant Kepto permission to host, process, transmit, display, and back up that data as needed to provide and secure the service.
- You are responsible for obtaining any required notices, permissions, and legal bases before entering personal data about employees, contractors, guests, students, tenants, or other people.
- Kepto may use aggregated or de-identified usage and performance information to improve the service.
- We will not use your organization name, logo, or testimonial in public marketing unless you give permission.
7. Limitation of Liability
- Kepto is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- Kepto is a tracking and workflow tool; it does not physically secure assets and is not responsible for asset losses, theft, damage, or mismanagement.
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months prior to the claim.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
8. Changes to Terms
- We may update these Terms of Service from time to time.
- Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days in advance.
- Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
9. Governing Law and Contact
- These Terms are governed by the laws of Croatia, except where mandatory consumer or data protection laws provide otherwise.
- For questions about these Terms, please reach out through our Contact page or email info@kepto.io.
- We will respond to all inquiries within 10 business days.
